- David Cox Review added: 2018.09.05★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I have recently used this company to purchase a Meaco dehumidifier but due to my experience with them I wished I had not. The device was to be delivered to Italy so when having a conversation about transportation they assurred me the item would be weel packed and labelled fragile handle with care. These items are like mini fridges need to be kept upright and handled with care. When the item arrived yesterday there was no extra packaging and no labelling. The box had minor damage but who knows how it was handled because there were no instructions.
When I opened the box I found the unit had a standard UK plug instead of the European plug so I was unable to use it or test it out.
I telephoned the company and Customer Service said they would come back to me in an hour.
They did but, rather than apologise they gave excuses such as they have sent others to Europe without any problems. However, whilst waiting for their response I telephoned Meaco who informed me that they do not deliver to Europe because the unit is to fragile.
As regards the plug they informed me that I would have to pay for an electrician to put on a European plug. I asked for some money back to pay for this but they refused stating it came from the UK. All other companies I have used for electical items have come with a European plug. Also, Meaco informed me that if Aircon center had requested a unit with a european plug they would have supplied it to them.
Unfortunately, this is a company which has very poor customer service and once they have your money there is very little you can do about it.
There website says, 'Our customers love us,' on the evidence I what Ihave experienced I can only hate this company.
